Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy announced Wednesday that flight capacity at 40 major U.S. airports will be reduced by 10% beginning Friday morning if the government shutdown has not ended.
“The Federal Aviation Administration has directed all major U.S. airlines to reduce flight schedules at 40 markets starting Friday, as the government shutdown worsens staffing shortages among air traffic controllers and other federal aviation workers.” He said.
